A v-ring seal is a one-piece seal which is mounted on a shaft and seals axially against a counterface and normally rotates with the shaft.

The construction of a v-ring seal is divided into three parts:

1. the body
2. the lip
3. the hinge

ERIKS offers v-rings manufactured with four standard profiles.

• The S type v-rings are designed for shaft sizes up to 200 mm.
• The A type v-rings are designed for shaft sizes up to 2020 mm.
• The L type v-rings are designed for use when the sealing house is limited or as part of a labyrinth sealing application.
• The E type v-rings are designed with a reinforced profile for rigid applications where more axial tolerances are required.

ERIKS lip seals are specially designed to resist higher pressures than a classic oil seals and can be used with shaft velocities of up to 40 m/s.

• Secure sealing on unpaved and stainless steel shafts
• No traces of damage on the surface
• No need for treatment of the shaft surface (coat, temper, nitrate,…), nor the use of extra sleeves
